West Ham readying major multi-million pound bid for Premier League striker

According to The Guardian, West Ham are readying a bid for Callum Wilson thought to be worth £25 million.

The news has certainly got our Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern talking, with them excited to see the east London club looking at some serious goal-scoring talent to get them out of their current rut.

The Bournemouth man has proven himself to be a proper Premier League level forward in recent times for the Cherries and despite the south coast club going well this season, the prospect of playing at the London Stadium may prove too much to turn down.

Indeed, he’d almost definitely be first choice for the Irons with Simone Zaza failing to impress, Andy Carroll perpetually injured and Diafra Sakho not faring much better in the fitness stakes either.

Sakho only just returned from a back injury but went off against Manchester United and has been ruled out for six weeks, sparking this interest in Wilson ahead of the January window.

The English forward has four goals from twelve Premier League games so far this season whilst he has also registered an assist so he’d likely be more productive than what the Hammers have right now.
