West Ham United have enjoyed one of their best summers in a long time and will be hoping they can reap the rewards once the upcoming season starts.
Manuel Pellegrini was appointed as the new manager to try and take the side up the Premier League table and get them into European football.
The former Manchester City manager has already shown his intent with the signings he has brought to the Hammers this summer, however, reports are suggesting that there is a concern about one of their possible targets.
The Sun are claiming West Ham are reluctant to offer Yaya Toure a contract after holding talks with him and his agent. It is believed Pellegrini was keen on a possible reunion with the Ivorian but it is thought there could be problems.
Firstly, the Hammers are unsure if he can continue at the top-level, whilst there is also a concern that he may bring to much baggage with him, following his scathing attack on Pep Guardiola following his release from the Etihad Stadium.
Toure would have certainly added plenty of experience to the West Ham side this summer as they look to become competitive, however, with the arrival of Jack Wilshere and the possibility of Felipe Anderson joining from SS Lazio, it would be difficult to accommodate the Ivorian in the squad.
He could also be an extremely expensive addition as well to the London Stadium with his financial packet, and with the additions the club are making, they may look to find cheaper alternatives.
