West Ham United poised to target Troy Deeney if attempts to sign Daniel Sturridge fail.
Our resident West Ham supporters in the Transfer Tavern are intrigued by the possibility of signing Troy Deeney from Watford, especially in light of the relative failings of their current striking lot. According to the Sun, the Hammers are preparing a bid for Watford’s out-of-favour striker, Troy Deeney, that is if their efforts to sign Sturridge fails to materialise.
David Moyes is currently facing an injury crisis with regards to the availability of his striking options, and Sturridge is reportedly available on loan from Liverpool. However, the Englishman’s arrival would reportedly carry an obligation to pay £25M for his services in the summer window.
Accordingly, Moyes is supposedly considering a move for Watford’s Troy Deeney.
Deeney provides power, physique, and leadership in the attack, which would be exceedingly valuable for the Hammers in light of their recent injury woes. The 29-year-old has proved his capability to score in the division having scored 28 league goals over the past three seasons.
