West Ham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are eagerly awaiting a flurry of announcements regarding deals for strikers this summer, well the wait is over, one has been announced, just not the one they were waiting for.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, West Ham striker Diafra Sakho is currently undergoing a medical with fellow Premier League side, West Brom.
The Hammers striker has been looking for a move away from East London after not getting the first team assurances he wanted from manager Slaven Bilic and is now on the verge of a £16m move to the midlands.
The deal to take the 26-year-old to The Hawthorns comprises of a £10m initial fee with £6m in add-ons dependant on performances.
The Senegalese international scored 19 goals in 50 appearances for the Irons in two seasons with the club, having joined from Metz in 2014.
