West Ham set to face stern battle for £20m Bilic target

The West Ham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are adamant that this is the year they will land the marquee striker they have all been waiting for, twelve months on from the debacle that was Simone Zaza.

Fresh off the back of his European Championship embarrassment, the Italian striker made the move to London Stadium with a lot expected of him, but failed to find the back of the net in 11 appearances in claret and blue.

With that in mind, the Hammers have been linked with a move for Premier League experience in the form of £20m-rated Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City.

However, with London rivals Crystal Palace having announced former Ajax and Inter Milan boss Frank de Boer as their new manager, the club are now ready to back the Dutchman and battle it out with the east Londoners over a deal for the striker, according to reports from The Mirror.

Iheanacho has fallen down the pecking order at City since the arrival of Leroy Sane and most notably Gabriel Jesus and may well be on the move this summer.

West Ham fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think Palace could beat you to a deal? Let us know…
