West Ham set to wave goodbye to fan-favourite if David Moyes signs permanent deal – report

West Ham United will be looking to strengthen their team in the summer after a disappointing campaign which has seen them struggle to retain their Premier League status, and fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting much more from their side should they stay up.

The Hammers have found some positive form in recent fixtures, although a 4-1 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend put an end to their decent run, however, David Moyes’ side appear to have done enough to remain in the Premier League next year.

The locals in the bar have been critical of a number of their players this season with the performances they have displayed, but it appears one of the fan-favourites could end his time at the London Stadium in the summer.

According to a report in The Sun, Adrian wants to leave the club should Moyes be named as the permanent manager of the Hammers, which is thought to be very likely. The Spanish goalkeeper has started to become disillusioned with life with the Irons as he has been in-and-out of the team due to competition from Joe Hart.

The 31-year-old is said to be keen to stay in England but is eager for regular first-team football, so he could end his five-year association with West Ham this summer.

Landlord’s Verdict

West Ham fans in the Tavern will be disappointed to learn that Adrian wants to leave the club, with many of the punters believing he is a better stopper than Hart. It remains to be seen on what the club will do with the England international in terms of his long-term future, and that could have a significant impact on Adrian as well.
