West Ham have a problem on their hands – and it’s come about owing to an injury to Andriy Yarmolenko. The Ukranian is likely to be out for much of the season owing to an Achilles issue, and now it’s up to Manuel Pellegrini to find a solution
The reality is that, until January, it’s going to be tough for the Hammers. They don’t have the offensive quality that they once did, and they’re admittedly short going forward.
However, that could all change in January, with the prospect of bringing in one or two new faces likely an exciting thought for fans.
They’ll need someone that can fill in for Yarmolenko but still do a job upon his return, and we think they could find the perfect man in Victor Moses. According to Goal, he’s considering his future at Chelsea after losing his space under Maurizio Sarri.
Moses, of course, has spent time at West Ham previously whilst on-loan from the Blues – and he’d be a great fit.
An energetic winger, Moses has made a name for himself for his hard work ethic, great energy and decent technical ability. A versatile player, he’s just as capable defensively as he is offensively, and he’d be a great fit in the West Ham attack.
Excellent with the ball at his feet, he’s a great option down the flanks when looking to get a late goal or hold onto a lead.
Upon Yarmolenko’s return, Moses would be able to fit into a number of positions – namely at right-back or, indeed, at right-wing – and so the Nigerian could remain an important part of the team going forward.
He won the Premier League with Chelsea, and that wasn’t luck. He was, in fact, one of their best players – and he’d be a hit in across London we think.
