West Ham are really going for it this summer as the Hammers look to put last season behind them and really have a crack at finishing in the top eight of the Premier League next season.

New manager Manuel Pellegrini has moved quick to add real quality to the ranks at the London Stadium, and the signing this weekend of Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson only further signalled the club's intent.

However, it is now always the big money and flash signings who can have an impact at the club, and there is often more needed, such as steady hands, experience, and players who have played at the highest level.

One player who the club could look to sign who fits all of the above is Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.

Smalling has been a mainstay of the United team for a few seasons now, but is no longer guaranteed a start under Jose Mourinho, with the likes of Phil Jones and Eric Bailly ahead of him in the pecking order, and a young Victor Lindelof continuing to improve.

Smalling is a class act though, and with The Hammers looking to really improve for next season, he would be the perfect sort of signing for Pellegrini to bring in to the squad.

West Ham fans! What do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!!
