West Ham have had a pretty quiet summer by all accounts, with the signing of Javier Hernandez their big outlay so far as Slaven Bilic looks to improve his squad for the new season.
The signing of the Mexican is positive though, and it could well yield the goals the Hammers lacked last term in their debut season at their new London Stadium.
However, the Hammers fans here in the Tavern are still looking pretty nervous about what the new season could hold, and they will be hoping Bilic can venture into the transfer market before the end of August and add even more names to the ranks.
One player our landlord has brought up in conversation this week is current Dortmund and former Liverpool man Nuri Sahin.
Following his failed spell at Anfield, the Turkish international has gone back to Germany rebuilt his career to become one of the star performers for the yellow army.
His quality shines through in the middle of the park, with his ability to begin attacks and also join in further forward and get on the scoresheet something which many managers look for when signing new players.
Sahin could be a quality addition to the ranks at West Ham, thriving off the passion of the home support as he does currently over in Dortmund.
The Hammers need some quality in the midfield, and Sahin fits the bill perfectly.
Hammers fans, what do you think? Good signing? Give us your thoughts in the comments!
