As West Ham approach the new season, manager Slaven Bilic will be hoping to make further progress with his Hammers side after a frustrating season last time out.
The Croatian manager will be hoping to have his key players fit for the majority of the season and will also be looking for new signings like Javier Hernandez to settle in quickly and make a big impact at the London Stadium.
The Hammers fans here in the Tavern are in a positive mood overall though, and this week has seen them having a good old drink with our landlord, with plenty of talk turning to just who else the club might look to sign this summer.
One player who our landlord dropped into conversation on the belief he needs a move, is Man United and England defender Luke Shaw.
The former Southampton man has seen his time at United ravaged by injury and fitness issues, and manager Jose Mourinho made no secret last season that Shaw needs to find improvement and fitness in order to command a place in the first eleven on a regular basis.
West Ham on the other hand need a left back, and Shaw might well benefit from a move to reignite his career and regain the form which saw him labelled as one of the hottest properties in England.
While he might well still have a career at Old Trafford, a short term move to the Hammers might well give Shaw the ideal chance to make the England squad for next years World Cup in Russia.
West Ham fans, what do you think? Would you take Shaw? Let us know!
