There was trouble at the mill yesterday for West Ham United as their home loss to Burnley sparked outrage among fans at the London Stadium.
A summer of big spending has done nothing to help the cause, and replacing manager Slaven Bilic with David Moyes seems to have had little to no effect on proceedings either.
All being well though, the Hammers will remain a Premier League club this season, and eyes will surely begin to shift to the summer and who the club can look to sign in the transfer window who can have an immediate effect on the first team.
Here at the Tavern, our landlord has been speaking to a fair few of the punters at the bar, and he thinks that the club should look to the Championship and make a move for Leeds United star Samuel Saiz.
The Spaniard has been a terrific capture for the Elland Road club this term and has delivered some excellent performances, performances which many believe he can transcend into the Premier League if given the chance.
Saiz is a class act, and unlike many big money signings, will arrive at West Ham with a point to prove and hoping he can excel in the top flight.
A classy operator on the ball, and a player who can no doubt make the step up if given the opportunity, Saiz could be the perfect sort of signing for West Ham and their next manager, should David Moyes not carry on beyond the end of the current campaign.
West Ham fans, what do you think? Would Saiz be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
