In true West Ham fashion, the club have already been linked with dozens of players since the season ended.

Fans are used to seeing their beloved team being linked with players from around the globe and things are no different for the Hammers this time around.

Manuel Pellegrini is keen to recruit at least one other striker this summer, bearing in mind that Lucas Perez, Javier Hernandez and Andy Carroll are all reportedly leaving the London Stadium.

So what's the criteria exactly? Given that reports are linking the east London club with Aleksandar Mitrovic and Salomon Rondon, a big, physical goal-scorer is perhaps what West Ham desire.

Another name who fits that profile well and is a player West Ham have been linked (as per the Chronicle) with before is Club Brugge forward Wesley Moraes.

The 22-year-old has attracted a great deal of attention this season, because of the 17 goals and 10 assists he has bagged for the Belgian side.

Wesley (who is valued at £16.2 million on Transfermarkt) is 6ft 3in, extremely physical and knows where the back of the net is, so surely he's worth a punt, right?

Pellegrini has already tried his luck with relatively unknown players before at West Ham, with the likes of Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena being examples of transfers who have paid off.

Although the Brazilian forward has built a reputation this season, fans are sceptical because of the league he plays in.

West Ham signed Cheikhou Kouyate from the Belgian league and whilst he was sold by Pellegrini, he did enjoy a good few years prior to his exit.

Alongside Marko Arnautovic, Wesley could enjoy great success at the London Stadium and would, at the right price, be a risk worth taking.
