West Ham supporters in the Transfer Tavern recognise their side’s need for a striker and they’re hopeful that a deal will be completed soon.
Much to the overwhelming dismay of the Hammers’ faithful, the club has allegedly withdrawn their interest in Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud. David Gold and Neil Sullivan promised the Irons’ supporters a world-class striker last season, before West Ham’s first season at the London Stadium.
Their promises failed to come to fruition, and subsequently, the club is in the same position 12 months later, trying to sign a reputable striker.
Giroud was perceived as the perfect solution; he attains considerable Premier League experience and a superb record of scoring goals at the highest level.
Geographically, the Frenchman is accustomed to life in London which would be convenient for the Hammers, yet Giroud is supposedly uninterested at the prospect of moving to East London. Accordingly, West Ham’s frantic search for a striker continues, and our landlord believes that he’s found the best option.
Andrej Kramaric failed to impose himself as Leicester player but has since excelled at Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga. Before joining the former Premier League Champions, Kramaric had amassed a stunning total of 55 goals in 65 appearances for Croatian club Rijeka, and since departing England, he has scored 23 goals in 51 games for German side Hoffenheim, 18 of which were scored last season.
The 26-year-old’s side surprised a whole host of people last season, as they finished 4th in the Bundesliga, Kramaric was undeniably the catalyst for their domestic success. Kramaric contributed to 23 league goals last season, scoring 15 and providing eight assists.
If entrusted with leading West Ham’s attack, he could emulate this success at the London Stadium.
He would also be the perfect partner for Andy Carroll, a player who holds the ball up and dominates aerial duels. Contrastingly, Kramaric favours running in behind defences by utilising his superb dribbling ability.
The pair could forge an exceedingly productive partnership, and our landlord believes that Bilic should do everything in his power to sign the Croatian.
West Ham fans, do you agree? Let us know!
