The West Ham United fans are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening and discussing can comments made by one of their star performers this season.
In an interview with West Ham United’s official website, Dimitri Payet was complimentary towards Chelsea player Eden Hazard for the impact he has had on his career, with the duo former team-mates at Lille.
Payet’s form this season has been one of many bright things about Slaven Bilic’s first season in charge at the club. The club are on the verge of making the impossibile dream of qualifying for the Champions League come May thanks to some inspired performances from their squad this season.
Speaking about the impact the likes of Hazard had on his early years, Payet said:
“Well of course those players have helped me and I have been helped by the top players at all the clubs I have played for. When you are playing with such good players it does make things easier but I also feel that you can learn new things at all ages and at all times from the younger and older players.”
“That is what football is all about – getting the best out of everyone and working hard.”
The West Ham fans in The Tavern are delighted with Payet and are pleased that he has pledged his future to the club and hope the club can finish the season strongly and at least qualify for the Europa League come May.
