West Ham suffer blow in pursuit of 14-goal forward

The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to see their side sign a few players over the next few weeks…

The Hammers are seriously struggling this season, and their poor form has left the West Ham fans in the Tavern seriously concerned about their prospects this season.

A relegation battle still isn’t out of the equation, and Slaven Bilic seriously needs to get his side performing.

The good news for West Ham fans, though, is that the club are actively looking for new players – with a reported move for Robert Snodgrass the latest to go in from Slaven Bilic, whilst a move for a striker is also likely forthcoming.

Unfortunately for the Hammers in the Tavern, though, it is looking like their quest for offensive depth is not going to come very easily.

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham have had a £12.5 million bid for Brentford forward Scott Hogan rejected, with the Bees instead holding out for £15 million.

It’s not all bad news, though, with both clubs reportedly hoping to reach a good conclusion to their talks – with West Ham likely able to seal the deal with a £15 million move.

An expert finisher, Hogan has already bagged 14 goals this season in a struggling Brentford side.

Whilst the Hammers in the Tavern are disappointed at having yet another striker move rejected, especially with Jermain Defoe likely staying put at Sunderland, they definitely think that the Hogan move could still go through. Just £2.5 million separates the two clubs – and they think that Karen Brady and co will almost certainly put their hands in their pockets to get the deal done.

Our landlord thinks that they ought to, as at this point, they have little choice but to go all in on Hogan.
