The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see a few new signings in January…
West Ham have had a poor season so far, and in truth – many in the Transfer Tavern thought that Slaven Bilic would have been out of the door by now.
Much to the credit of the Hammers’ brass, though, the manager has been given a stay of execution. However, undoubtedly, his long-term continuation in the role relies upon a stellar month improving his side in the January transfer window.
January often determines the winners and losers in the Premier League, and with the Hammers struggling – a few new signings are essential if Bilic wants to remain in the role and remain in the Premier League.
However, it would appear as though their proposed January spending has not got off to a good start – with a move for Toulouse forward Martin Braithwaite reportedly turned down.
According to RMC Sport, Toulouse have turned down an offer close to €10 million from West Ham for Braithwaite. What’s more, RMC Sport are reporting that the club are unwilling to sell their star striker – and so it would appear as though the Hammers will be forced to look elsewhere.
This has come as a huge blow to the West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern, many of whom are desperate to see a new striker join the ranks. Sakho and Carroll have struggled this season – and so a move for talented forward like Braithwaite makes a lot of sense.
The Hammers currently sit in 11th place in the Premier League, and whilst they are beginning to look safer in the Premier League – a tough second half of the season certainly awaits. Our landlord thinks that if Bilic can’t sign enough players – they could find themselves back in the relegation zone.
