West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be pleased that David Moyes has left his job at the London Stadium, however, it may be too early to start celebrating his departure.
The Irons in the bar were not best pleased with the style of football Moyes implemented at the club, despite the fact he guided them away from relegation. The former Manchester United manager was initially brought in for that purpose, but fans were never happy about the appointment.
Talks have been ongoing between the board about a possible successor, however, it appears the West Ham hierarchy will need to continue their search as reports in Portugal claim they have hit a bump in the road.
The Game (via O Jogo) are claiming that Paulo Fonseca will remain in Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk and renew his deal with them after holding talks about the Hammers job on Monday.
The West Ham fans in the Tavern will be disappointed they have not been able to convince Fonseca to take over at the London Stadium and will be urging the board to act quickly to bring in a high-profile manager.
The Portuguese manager would have been a coup for the Hammers, as he has recorded 73 wins in his 93 games in charge of Shakhtar, but it appears he will not be in the dugout next season and the club will need to turn their attention elsewhere.
