The West Ham United fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports linking them with a proven Premier League player.
Bleacher Report claim that West Ham will look to make a move for Arsenal forward Theo Walcott, should their move for team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fail to come off.
Walcott could be ready for a new challenge in his career after spending the last 10 years at the Emirates Stadium following a move from Southampton as a 17-year-old.
Only last week he came in for criticism with regards to his development in the last 10 years, with Arsene Wenger admitting that the England international had not developed how he was expected to upon joining the club all those years ago.
With Slaven Bilic looking to build on what has been a successful season this, and the move to the Olympic Stadium next season, it could turn out to be the move required to revitalise Walcott’s career.
Our landlord here in The Tavern believes that if West Ham manage to pull off this signing that it would be a signal of intent to the rest of the Premier League.
As for the West Ham fans they are delighted to be linked with a player of Walcott’s undoubted ability and would love to see him in the famous claret shirt next season.
Arsenal fans, would you sell either of this duo? Let us know in the comments below!
