West Ham United will return to Premier League action on Tuesday night when they face Cardiff City at the London Stadium.
The Hammers were victorious in their last top-flight match, ending Newcastle United’s three-game winning streak and looked in good form.
Manuel Pellegrini will want to see his side continue with that performance against the Bluebirds, however, he could be without two of his defenders for the clash.
The left-back was forced off the pitch in the game against Newcastle in the second half with a hamstring injury and was replaced by Arthur Masuaku, who could fill in for him if needed once again.
Balbuena managed to get through the 90 minutes on Saturday, however, Pellegrini has revealed the Paraguay international is also a doubt after picking up a slight knock in the win.
Both players have become vital in Pellegrini’s first-team and their absences could come as blows for the Hammers.
Cresswell, who had found life difficult under the manager at the beginning, has recently been performing well in the side after being given another chance, with Masuaku being unconvincing.
Balbuena has also been a rock at the back alongside Issa Diop and has been key to helping West Ham to improve at the back this season.
