West Ham United’s meeting against Everton in the late kickoff on Saturday evening at the London Stadium can only be described as a ‘six-pointer’. With both sides vying for seventh place, taking all three points could not be more important than ever before.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side managed to put together an excellent comeback against Huddersfield Town prior to the international break, however, one man that was hugely influential in that game has given the Hammers something to be concerned about.
What’s the News?
According to the club’s official website, Samir Nasri is a doubt for the encounter against Everton.
The former France international has picked up a calf problem and will be assessed ahead of kickoff to determine whether or not he will be able to play a role for the Irons.
Nasri’s injury blow will be some extremely concerning news for West Ham and Pellegrini as he is the type of player that is needed for a game of this magnitude.
The 31-year-old played a key role in their win against Huddersfield as he made the difference and helped the Hammers with a game-changing performance and set them on their way to taking all three points.
It was not just that performance where he has been influential, as the match against his former club, Arsenal, was another where he showed what he can offer to the team, as he adds a further dimension to the midfield.
West Ham have had issues with creativity from the central areas of the pitch at times, however, Nasri is a player that has been able to ease those concerns with his displays and has helped the attackers in the side with his ability to go forward.
