West Ham United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been waiting for their club to sack Sam Allardyce but instead they’ve bid for a defender.
According to The Mirror, West Ham have made a £7 million bid for powerful Stuttgart defender Antonio Rudiger.
Rudiger is regarded as one of the best young players in the Bundesliga and he is also on the radar of Newcastle United.
The bid is reportedly a £5 million offer plus up to £2 million in perfromance based bonuses.
The defender still has a three-year contract to run at Stuttgart but it’s believed that the youngster is keen to play in the Premier League.
However, the East London club are going to have to make up their mind as to who they want as boss to take the club forward, as it is unlikely that any player will want to move to Upton Park with such uncertainly hanging over the manager.
Big Dave, our resident West Ham nutter, has offered to forcibly remove Allardyce from the club and he’s not the only one in here this evening that agrees.
The claret and blue faithful have grown sick of the former Bolton Wanderers manager’s tactics this season and he faces a tough task keeping his job.
