The West Ham United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are buzzing for their opening day clash with Tottenham but are still hoping their club bring in more players.
And according to talkSPORT, Sam Allardyce is still hopeful of bringing Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang to Upton Park even though the Italians are refusing to lower their asking price.
Sampdoria want £4.7 million for the Spanish Under-21 international and are unlikely to budge with many European clubs keeping tabs.
One Hammers fan has just quipped: “If you are charging us fans to watch the game against Spurs £70 this Saturday than surely you can afford to stump up a bit more cash,” and he has a point.
Allardyce is still working hard to bring players to Upton Park, especially with Senegalese midfielder Mohamed Diame linked with a move across London to Queens Park Rangers.
Obiang has been the standout performer for the Genoa-based side in recent times but the Hammers are hoping that a deal for the former Atletico Madrid trainee can be completed before the end of August.
