In recent comments made on Twitter, well-respected West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that Hammer striker Michail Antonio looks set to miss Monday’s Premier League clash with Chelsea due to injury.
Since joining West Ham from Nottingham Forest in what was an £8.55 million deal back in 2015, Antonio has gone on to feature 161 times for the Hammers, scoring 41 goals and providing 22 assists along the way.
So far this season, the £10.8 million-rated 30-year-old has highly impressed over his seven Premier League appearances for David Moyes’ side, scoring three goals and averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.12 – ranking him as the club’s second-best performer in the top flight.
And, the forward looks set to miss yet another game for the east London outfit, after ExWHUemployee stated that it seems ‘unlikely’ that Antonio will feature in Monday evening’s Premier League fixture against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea.
In reaction to a question from a West Ham fan on Twitter asking for an update on the fitness of Antonio, ExWHUemployee replied: “Unlikely to be fit for this game.”

While Antonio’s continued absence from the West Ham side is undoubtedly bad news for fans of the club, it has to be said, even without the striker, the Hammers have been performing incredibly well this season.
In the six Premier League games that the 30-year-old has missed this season, Moyes’ side have won three, drawn one and lost two – meaning that there is still hope of a positive result for West Ham against their London rivals on Monday evening, even without one of their stars of this season.
