The West Ham United fans are enjoying a well earned pint at the bar in The Transfer Tavern and discussing reports that the club have completed the signing of a talented teenager.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Premier League side have completed the signing of 18 year old Valencia striker Toni Martinez for an initial fee of £750,000.
The deal between the two sides is a complex one which aside from the fee includes a 20% sell on fee for the player and many bonuses and clauses which will see the fee increase should Martinez progress as expected.
Valencia have also inserted a clause that they have the option to buy the player if they match any bid received by West Ham, if they are ever looking to sell.
Martinez has made a name for himself in the youth ranks at the Mestalla, scoring over 100 times for the youth team, but unfortunately for the La Liga side he had his head turned by West Ham and will reportedly earn five times more than he was with Valencia.
The West Ham fans in The Tavern are delighted with the addition of Martinez and hope that he will realise his potential and break into the first team as soon as he possibly can.
