West Ham United: Fans erupt over Brighton draw in response to ExWHUemployee - Premier League

Following West Ham United’s 2-2 draw at home to struggling Brighton and Hove Albion, a match marred by VAR controversy coupled with more dropped points for the Hammers, plenty of Irons flocked to have their say in response to a tweet by ExWHUemployee.

Delivering a wide range of opinions, supporters were up in arms over the disappointing result for varying reasons, with one common theme among these opinions being manager David Moyes got it totally wrong against the Seagulls.

Neil Maupay gifted Brighton the lead before lifelong supporter Ben Johnson netted home an equaliser from close range, but it took another levelling goal from Tomas Soucek to rescue a point for the Hammers after Lewis Dunk gave the away side another lead.

Discussing the result on Twitter, in response to ExWHUemployee’s verdict, many Irons had plenty to say – find all of their best verdicts down below.

“Board must be chuffed. 6 more wins to safety

What games are we targeting ex?”

“So frustrating to see Moyes revert to type just when he was beginning to win me over. What on earth was he thinking with his selection and tactics in this game?”

“Ex, any chance you could find out why Moyes doesn’t want to make a 3rd sub at the busiest time of the season?? I think Benrahma should have come on as soon as we equalised. But even just to rest a player for 10 minutes 🤷🏻‍♂️baffling”

“Benrahma has looked good every time he’s played for West Ham and is the most naturally gifted creative midfielder the club have had since Payet – Moyes consistently leaves him out the side purely because he wasn’t player he wanted. Ridiculous management; picking team on ignorance”

“I know it’s not the game to entirely blame him, but oboy, we need Antonio back and desperately need a new striker in the window. Absolute dreadful.”

“Writing was on the wall before we kicked off. Never mind VAR, handball or any of that, we got what we deserved at best. Its all on Moyes for me. The reluctance to play our mist creative player, at all, speaks volumes for me”
