West Ham United finally set to secure striker deal

The West Ham United fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports the club are closing in on a deal for a new striker.

According to a report on Talksport, the Hammers have agreed a fee in the region of £20 million with Swansea City to bring Andre Ayew to the club this summer.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has been looking for reinforcements at the top end of the pitch, and after being linked with numerous top European strikers it appears that Ayew is now the one he has his sights set on signing.

Swansea are eager to get the deal completed as quickly as possible as they look to trim their wage budget ahead of the new campaign.

Ayew joined Swansea from Marseille on a free transfer last summer and went on to make 35 appearances and scored 12 times last season for the Welsh side.

Our resident Hammers fans are delighted with this news, and think the striker adds an element of potency to the Irons’ attacking line!
