West Ham United fans are looking around with awe here in the Football Transfer Tavern after hearing news of the latest rumour to emerge from the Daily Mail who think the London side could be about to pounce for a stellar Serie A name.
The Hammers are thought to be considering a move for veteran central midfielder Massimo Ambrosini who has of course just left AC Milan.
The legend has decided to prolong his career in the top leagues of football and has shunned a big move to the MLS for now. His agent claimed that: “Obviously Massimo wants to continue playing. There are some negotiations in place and we are evaluating every type of proposal.
“His preference would be overseas clubs, but if an offer did come in from an Italian side, we would not ignore it completely.
“At this moment we are in talks with West Ham, while we have already ruled out Major League Soccer.”
The 35-year-old would be more than keen on a move to England and given his vast talent not to mention his bags of experience at the very top of Italian football, no one could blame Sam Allardyce (famed for getting the best out of older pros) for making a move for him.
Will Ambrosini become the third Hammers arrival after Razvan Rat and Adrian? Rate this rumour below.
