The West Ham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate for their team’s defence to improve…
Whilst the West Ham faithful spent much of last season celebrating in the Tavern, this year the atmosphere amongst the Hammers in attendance has been markedly less positive.
Gone are the days of competing for European football and battling with the big boys; West Ham have been absolutely appalling so far this season.
With problems up and down the pitch, our landlord has put many of West Ham’s woes down to their lacklustre defence – and it would appear that Slaven Bilic is in agreement.
The West Ham boss is reportedly keen to bolster his defensive line, and is looking towards ex-AC Milan defender Kevin Constant as a solution.
As a free agent, Constant would be available to join the club straight away; but it will not be that easy for the London side.
HITC are reporting that whilst West Ham are leading the chase for the dynamic defender – they will be forced to compete with a host of other Premier League sides.
Interesting, to add further fuel to the fire – the Mirror are reporting that West Ham have actually been offered the chance to sign Constant – which may signal that the deal is closer than first thought.
According to the West Ham faithful in the Tavern – the deal definitely makes sense. They like the look of Constant – but will certainly be hoping that his name matches his performance level.
The Hammers are desperate for a back line that can consistently provide cover without falling to pieces as they have done thus far this season.
Constant could be the man to improve Slaven Bilic’s fortunes.
