The Daily Mail have some rather interesting news for our punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they think that Jordan Rhodes could well be on his way to West Ham United.
The forward has been sensational for struggling Championship side Blackburn Rovers this season and has netted a massive 25 goals. When you consider the fact Rovers are in somewhat of a difficult season not to mention only a point above the relegation zone, this is an impressive feat.
The club are facing an uncertain future, fans are growing in their disillusionment, and should the club succumb to yet another relegation, they will certainly lose Rhodes. Former Rovers manager Sam Allardyce is considering moving for the 23-year-old who would cost considerably less than top target Andy Carroll who of course has been on loan at the club this summer.
Allardyce is aware that West Ham cannot afford to pay the £17 million asking price for Carroll and is casting his eye around for potential replacements and feels that Scottish international Rhodes could be the perfect alternative.
