West Ham United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are still on cloud nine after their stunning 3-0 victory over Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
The remarkable result was capped by that goal by former Manchester United youngster Ravel Morrison as the 21-year-old continues to shine for the Upton Park outfit this term.
His impressive start to the season for Sam Allardyce’s team has led to speculation in the tavern that he could be set for a January move but now Mirror Football reports that the Hammers are ready to offer the teenager a lucrative new deal to see him remain with the Irons for the long-term.
The rumours have been sparked after reports emerged that Morrison has a £19 million release clause in his current deal which the Hammers are eager to remove.
The midfielder, who was signed from United for £650,000 in January 2012, is likely to be in high demand after proving himself with the Hammers following his troubled time at Old Trafford.
Former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson rated the playmaker very highly but his off the field conduct overshadowed his clear footballing ability at the club causing Fergie to give up the ghost nearly a year ago.
However Morrison appears to have learnt from his past mistakes and his recent form has already earned him his first England Under-21 call-up.
Now punters in the tavern are wondering if United could be left ruing letting him leave as his resurgence continues bringing plenty of suitors from across Europe.
Should Morrison remain at Upton Park to continue his development or look for a move away? Let us know your thoughts below.
