The West Bromwich Albion fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that the club have made a move for a new striker.
According to reports in The Telegraph, the Premier League side have had a bid of £15 million accepted by West Ham United for striker Diafra Sakho.
The move will see the Midlands club break their transfer record for the second summer running, eclipsing the £12 million that was paid for Saloman Rondon last year, the club expect the deal to be concluded within the next 48 hours.
With that deal close it appears that the club are set to finally move Saido Berahino on from the club, with both Crystal Palace and Stoke City set to battle it out for the former England Under-21 striker.
Berahino has been looking to move on from the club for sometime and has been unsettled at the club for the last year, following a public fallout with Jeremy Peace over numerous failed bids received from Tottenham last summer.
Our resident Baggies here in the Transfer Tavern are excited about the arrival of Sakho, but are wary of the £15m price-tag attached to him!
