The West Ham supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern are buzzing at the prospect of entering their new home at the Olympic Stadium next summer, with the prospect of European football under their belt.
They won’t be quite so happy however at some transfer news which emerging via the landlord’s copy of the Brentwood Gazette today, that indicates the club may be set to bid £10 million for Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli.
The Italian forward is currently on loan with AC Milan but he has struggled for form, scoring just one goal in four games for the Serie A club.
Liverpool would be likely to recall the forward if a club showed strong interest in signing the 25-year-old, and Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is seemingly keen to do a deal.
One Hammers fan here in the Tavern is sitting by the dart board enjoying a quick pint in his lunch hour and is isn’t convinced that Balotelli is any better than what the club already have, but does admit that the club need a striker if they are to keep up their current good form!
Our landlord here in the Tavern thinks this would be a truly bizarre move for West Ham, and feels that Bilic and his team should steer well clear of the controversial Italian striker.
West Ham fans… What do you make to the prospect of Balotelli playing for your club? Let us know below!
