West Ham supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate to see their side sign a striker sooner rather than later, with both Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia ruled out of the season’s opening months through injury.
The Hammers have been linked with a host of new forwards in recent weeks, and today the Mirror are reporting that they have been offered former Manchester United and Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov on a free transfer.
The 34-year-old is a free agent having been released from French moneybags Monaco earlier in the summer, and his agent has also contacted Leicester City and Aston Villa to see if they are interested in offering the Bulgarian a return to the Premier League.
It appears it is West Ham that are in most desperate need of a new striker however, and Berbatov would be happy to relocate to London, a city he knows well having previously played for both Tottenham and Fulham.
Our resident West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern admit they would love to see the silky smooth striker at Upton Park this summer, and feel Bilic should do all he can to lure him to the London club.
