West Ham United will be hoping for a good summer in the transfer market as they look to make some solid additions and avoid a repeat of last season’s poor campaign.
New man at the helm Manuel Pellegrini will no doubt already have his eyes on a plethora of new players he wants to bring in to the club, and he will be hoping his experience and contacts within the game can give him a boost in terms of pursuing the right sort of player.
The Hammers fans here in the Tavern expect much more of their team next season, and from conversations with our landlord at the bar this week, it would appear they are confident in new man Pellegrini to bring an element of success to the club.
One player who has been mentioned during those chats is Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, who has fallen well down the pecking order for the Reds, with injuries putting paid to his chances of every recapturing the form he showed when Luis Suarez was in town.
However, Sturridge is still a talent, and valued at only £13.5m by Transfermarkt, could represent something of a bargain buy for the Hammers if he can maintain his fitness.
Quick, tricky, and a lethal finisher, Sturridge could well be open for a switch to the Hammers, and it could well be just what he needs to get his career back on track and start staking his claim for a place back in the England set up.
West Ham fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
