West Ham United should look to prolific Championship talisman to revive fortunes

It hasn’t been a season to remember for the West Ham United supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern and an injection of fresh blood is needed at the London Stadium during the summer months.

Croatian manager Slaven Bilic faces a frantic fight to keep hold of his job this summer and after a miserable maiden campaign at their new stadium it wouldn’t be any real surprise to see him leave the club in the coming weeks.

The recruitment made by the Hammers last summer was nothing short of abysmal and whoever is in charge ahead of next season needs to ensure that some top quality players are signed in preparation for next season.

One area of the pitch that the Hammers could do with strengthening in is up front and one man who could be of use to the Premier League outfit is Championship striker Chris Wood, who netted 30 goals in all competitions for Leeds United during 2016/17.

Wood looks destined to sign for a Premier League outfit during the summer given his impressive goal haul over the past season and few could begrudge him the chance to shine on the top flight stage.

One Hammers supporter is sat enjoying a pint with the landlord here in the Tavern and he is of the belief that Wood would undoubtedly improve the Hammers’ chances of climbing the league table next season given his clinical nature in front of goal.

West Ham fans, would you welcome Wood to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
