The term ‘bottle jobs’ has been thrown around an awful lot when the names David Gold and David Sullivan come up after an incredible turnaround in job security.
The two David’s were assured by Allardyce that next season he would up his attacking game and it looks like the wheels are already in motion.
According to Sky Sports, West Ham have already tied up a deal to sign Mauro Zarate after he impressed at Velez last season scoring 18 goals in 28 games.
The move has been confirmed by both his brother and his agent and the former Birmingham City and Lazio striker is set to sign for the Hammers with Velez set to earn ‘good financial compensation’.
He only re-joined Velez from Serie A side Lazio last July but it’s thought that Zarate would find it hard to turn down another chance to play in England.
Zarate’s signature is rumoured to be wanted elsewhere in the Premier League and throughout Europe but West Ham are in pole position.
West Ham fans. Can a leopard change its spots or are the Hammers’ faithful in for yet another long and boring season under Allardyce? Let us know your thoughts below.
