West Ham United fans are looking up with shock here in the Football Transfer Tavern after the Sun on Sunday claimed they are after a former Chelsea forward.
Samuel Eto’o is currently without a club, and despite having huge and we think somewhat outlandish wage demands, the Hammers may be willing to give him another chance in the Premier League.
As one of our punters notes over a pint and a game of pool with our landlord, given the constant rumours surrounding Sam Allardyce and his future at Upton Park, this could well be all change before the season kicks off – and that may well effect the transfer policy to boot.
One thing is for sure however; another forward simply has to be brought into the club, with Andy Carroll once again set to miss a long spell and doubts over his future growing by the day.
Eto’o may have been a flop during his spell at Chelsea but we think it is safe to say should he join the Hammers, his first away goal in the league will probably be at Stamford Bridge!
West Ham fans. Is this a mistake? Will the 33-year-old improve on his time at Chelsea or are you set for another long season parking the bus? Let us know your thoughts below.
