West Ham United turning their attentions to Liverpool striker to solve forward problem?

BoriniWest Ham supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate to see their side sign a new striker as quickly as possible, and reports from the Times suggest the Hammers have now turned their attentions to Liverpool outcast Fabio Borini.

The Hammers are in desperate need of a new striker, with first choices Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia both out for several months with injury.

New boss Slaven Bilic has been linked with a host of forwards, including QPR’s Charlie Austin, Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez, and Atletico Madrid’s Raul Jiminez.

And now it seems Liverpool flop Borini has been added to that list.

The Italian is surplus to requirements at Anfield, having managed just one goal for the Reds last season.

Borini did however impress during a loan spell at Sunderland during 2013-14, scoring 10 goals in all competitions and being crowned the club’s young player of the year.

The former Roma man is eager to prove himself in England, and believes he will do just that with the chance of regular first team football.

Lazio are offering him a return to Serie A, but West Ham could make a late bid to hijack the deal, with Liverpool eager to recoup around £8million for offloading him.

West Ham United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are unsure about this news linking them with Borini, with them all agreeing they can do a lot better than the Reds misfit!
