West Ham United would do well to snap up this Croatian defensive ace this summer

West Ham United are looking to improve on last season in the coming 12 months, with the Hammers under a new manager in Manuel Pellegrini.

The Hammers fans here in the Tavern are hoping to see the former Manchester City manager bring some success to the club, and Pellegrini will no doubt be hopeful of bringing in some big name signings during the course of the summer.

Big names are becoming almost expected in the Premier League these days, and our landlord thinks that some players who come into the league simply do not live up to their so called reputations.

However, one player he thinks would do a superb job is Croatian defender Domagoj Vida, who has been sensational for his country during this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

The big defender got himself on the scoresheet this weekend with his goal in extra time during their quarter final tie with the hosts, and it looks ever likely that Vida will attract some attention in the coming weeks.

It’s not the first tournament where he has impressed either, with Vida becoming a consistent performer for the Croats over the past few tournaments.

Solid in the air, full of strength, and with bags of passion and commitment, Vida would be a superb addition for the Hammers if they can pull off a move for the World Cup semi finalist.

West Ham fans, what do you think? Would this be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
