West Ham unlikely to make additions in January

West Ham United splashed out around £100million on new players in the summer transfer window to make their squad a lot better.

Manuel Pellegrini managed to add the likes of Lukasz Fabianski, Issa Diop and Felipe Anderson (to name a few) who have all excelled at the London Stadium so far this season.

However, he has also seen a number of his new signings hit the sidelines with injuries, with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko and Carlos Sanchez (again to name a few) for a significant period of time.

There was an expectation that Pellegrini could head into the January transfer market to add another couple of options, however, that now does not appear to be the case, which could be potentially concerning as the season goes on.

According to a report by Claret and Hugh, they have claimed that West Ham are unlikely to make any new additions in the winter.

It is believed there is a cautious outlook on the current finances, with the Hammers making sure that they do not breach any financial fair play rules.

The Verdict:

Despite a slow start, West Ham have certainly turned things around and currently find themselves in a good position within the Premier League.

There would be an argument that they could still look to make additions in certain areas to help provide cover, but they are not in any danger as such for any potential ‘panic-buys’.

The Hammers have started to get the best out of a number of their stars and will look for that to continue when they travel to Fulham at the weekend.
