West Ham United will be desperate to secure all three points against London rivals Fulham on Friday night, with the opportunity to get back into the race for a European place.
The Hammers have been rather impressive in recent times but they just haven’t been able to secure the positive results to show it, as they threw away a lead against Crystal Palace and had a number of chances against Liverpool.
Interestingly, it appears as if the London club are weighing up a possible summer swoop at this moment in time, as according to Claret & Hugh, Manuel Pellegrini looks set to launch a new raid on Gary Medel.
West Ham are believed to be interested in signing Besiktas’ Gary Medel.
Indeed, the former Cardiff City man is under contract until June 2020 and has made it clear to Besiktas he has no intention of agreeing a new deal with the club.
It’s safe to say that the Hammers are in need of a defensive midfielder as Pedro Obiang has lacked quality at times and Declan Rice’s future remains uncertain amid interest, so a summer swoop for the Chilean would make sense.
Gary Medel has 116-caps to his name for the Chile national side and he previously featured for Cardiff City in the Premier League, so his experience could prove vital in the middle of midfielder for the Hammers.
Indeed, it remains to be seen as to whether he’s good enough to potentially replace Declan Rice in midfield, but he would definitely be a solid purchase for the London club.
