Pep Guardiola is currently spoilt for choice when selecting midfielders for his starting XI with Kevin De Bruyne now back in the equation following a knee ligament injury and Bernardo Silva playing exceptionally well.

On top of those two, the Spaniard also has David Silva, Fernadinho and Ilkay Gundogan to call upon, making it difficult for Phil Foden to find minutes, as a result.

And the English youngster is now reportedly being lined up for a move to Germany.

The Breakdown

The Daily Mail reports Borussia Dortmund are planning to reunite Jadon Sancho, who arrived at the Westfalenstadion from Manchester City last summer, with his former team-mate Foden in what could prove to be a relatively cheap deal.

Manchester City, though, will almost certainly do all they can to keep the midfielder at the club. But if they cannot, Dortmund are unlikely to be the only team after him, especially when a Premier League outfit such as West Ham could desperately do with such a player.

During the summer, the Hammers brought in Jack Wilshere, who is currently out injured, and Carlos Sanchez to strengthen their midfield, but neither of the two have impressed in the appearances they have made for the club so far.

With that in mind, Foden, who would represent an upgrade on both players, would be a great addition to Manuel Pellegrini's squad.

The 18-year-old can dribble with the ball, passes well and plays in between the lines very effectively overall.

If Manchester City and Foden decide to part ways in the near future, West Ham should not give Dortmund a free run at the talented England U21 international.
