The last few days have proved to be some pretty good ones for the West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern, with the club finally making moves in the market.
As the signing of Joe Hart looks to be followed up by the arrivals of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic, optimism is evident amongst our east London locals heading into the new campaign. So, with Slaven Bilic rebuilding the first-team, many of our resident Irons are discussing who needs to leave in order to make room for the new faces.
Which is why reports from the Daily Mail have proved so interesting today. They claim ‘keeper Darren Randolph is close to leaving the London Stadium following Hart’s arrival and Championship side Middlesbrough are reportedly his next destination.
Indeed, Boro have lost Victor Valdes & Brad Guzan since their relegation and are understood to be closing in on an agreement for the 30-year-old. The Republic of Ireland international is believed to want to leave the club he joined back in 2015 from Birmingham City, aiming to keep his place as Martin O’Neill’s first choice stopper, heading into the World Cup.
Though few would doubt that Hart is an upgrade on Randolph, the punters propping up our bar will certainly miss him, thanks to his stunning performances at times last term.
