Anderson thrives, make Mourinho miserable, 5 points: West Ham’s dream September

It’s been a truly tough August for West Ham United. The East London outfit are currently the only Premier League side yet to have picked up a point, and some of their new additions are already looking questionable.

After a summer spending spree which saw the Hammers spends over £100m, their woeful start to the season will feel all the more painful. One signing in particular who has failed to impress, is Felipe Anderson. The Brazilian signed for a club-record fee of £36m from Lazio in the summer. However, is performances have so far left much to be desired. The 25-year-old has looked lightweight, and drifted in and out of games. For a truly dream September, the Irons need the attacking midfielder to thrive, and start being a real creative force in the side.

Another player who could hold the key do a dream September is Marko Arnautovic. The Big Austrian can be unplayable when he is confident and on-form. If he can get into his pomp, and start ripping up defences, this could make West Ham a scary prospect for any Premier League side to face. The 29-year-old can be the star man in this Irons side, and if he gets a good service from the East London outfits’ midfield, he could be one of the most dangerous strikers in the top flight.

Of course, points are crucial to a dream September. If West Ham can take five points from their September fixtures, it will be key in setting them up to have a positive season. They have three home fixtures in September, and should particularly target these games for points. Home fixtures against Wolves, and misfiring Manchester United could, in particular, be a chance to snatch three points.
