West Ham’s hunt for a big name forward has been far raging (and very public), though not much has yet come off for those in East London.
Moves for Christian Benteke, Carlos Bacca and Carlos Tevez all look to be dead in the water, as the Hammers look to nail down a marquee marksman in order to truly celebrate their seismic move to the Olympic Stadium.
However, manager Slaven Bilic is as determined as ever to draft a lethal frontman in and will seemingly not stop until he has done so.
According to Italian outlet TuttoSport (via HITC), the club have turned their attentions towards Juventus ace Mario Mandzukic.
The Croatian, who worked with Bilic at international level, has become somewhat of a journeyman throughout the continent. In recent years, the 30-year old has plied his trade for the likes of Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and the Old Lady.
With I Bianconeri chasing Gonzalo Higuain, the notion of selling the former Wolfsburg man could soon become far more realistic in Turin.
Would Madzukic be a good fit at West Ham? Better than the other reported names? Let us know below….
