‘Bilic literally is a joke’, ‘Too scared to take chances’ – West Ham fans react to fitness update

The Hammers in the Transfer Tavern are crying out for 3 vital points when they face Brighton at the London Stadium this Friday evening.

West Ham go into their Premier League encounter level on points with visitors Brighton, in what represents an early season 6-pointer in the bottom half of the table. Slaven Bilic is facing a selection dilemma ahead of the clash with strikers Andy Carroll and Diafro Sakho ruled out through suspension and injury respectively. Their absence leaves West Ham with just one recognised striker available in the shape of Javier Hernandez, who is also carrying a minor hamstring problem according to Bilic.

With a long season ahead of them, the Claret and Blue contingent in the Tavern are concerned by the inclusion of summer signing little pea with doubts looming over his fitness.

And Bilic’s decision to once again exclude free-scoring youngster Toni Martinez from the first-team squad has stimulated a dialogue on Twitter.

Martinez further strengthened his case for a first-team call-up last Sunday after scoring a hat-trick for the U23s against Manchester United U23s, and the Irons faithful believe he has done enough to warrant a first-team opportunity in recent weeks.

The fans on twitter are baffled by Bilic’s refusal to take a chance on Martinez considering their lack of forward options available to face Brighton tonight.

Here’s what the Hammers had to say on Twitter…
