Bilic plotting £18m relegation swipe on West Ham’s rivals

After managing to get a 2-2 draw with title hopefuls Liverpool yesterday, the West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been waxing poetic about their side.

Despite hovering far too close to the relegation zone for their liking, the Hammers’ performances of late have at least hinted to their fans that they are doing all they can to keep manager Slaven Bilic in his job.

With money to spend, the fast approaching January transfer window at least provides a period of excitement for our east London locals.

Even more so now, following reports from the Sun.

They claim the Irons are considering a move to bring Sunderland defender Lamine Kone to the London Stadium in the New Year, with an £18m bid.

Though the Ivorian penned a new deal with the Black Cats in September, it’s believed to have had a release clause in it that would allow the ex-Lorient man to leave for that price.

He’s a hugely popular figure amongst our Wearside locals and the notion of pairing him with Winston Reid is an exciting one for the long-suffering Hammers at the bar.

Having conceded 18 goals already, Kone would certainly add muscle to their leaky backline.

How good is Kone? Would he improve West Ham significantly? Let us know below..
