Bringing £7.2m-rated speed machine in this summer would give West Ham something to shout about

West Ham fans here at the Tavern are desperate for the season to end soon and, preferably, with their side still remaining in the top-flight. One final opportunity will be given to the board to deliver some quality players in summer as the Hammers do not want another season of despair.

Like many past windows, West Ham fans have been deeply underwhelmed with the squad additions and this January was no different. All they added was Joao Mario on loan and Jordan Hugill, a Championship forward, so it’s not been great.

Going the other direction, the Hammers sold joint top-goalscorer at the time Andre Ayew to relegation rivals and loaned out one of their most promising youngsters; Toni Martinez. The Irons now have a big, glamorous stadium to accommodate top talent but still, the club have failed to deliver, consequently leaving West Ham in this relegation mess.

If the owners are serious about investing this summer, they should set their sights on former target Adama Traore, rated at £7.20 million on Transfermarkt. Currently playing his football in the Championship with Middlesborough, Traore has performed well for Boro and his frightening speed has caused many-a-problem to opposing teams. So far this season, the 22-year-old has three goals and seven assists but his overall contribution to the game is magnificent. The former Barcelona youth prodigy is a skilful, powerful player that is also one of the fastest players in English football.

With a serious lack of pace in the side, West Ham fans would eagerly welcome explosive pace and a player that would guarantee to get fans on their feet. Hammers haven’t felt that way about a player for a while now but our landlord is agreeing that Traore has the potential to get better and better and would make a strong statement about West Ham’s hopes and aspirations ahead of next season.
