‘Every tweet raises my blood pressure’ – West Ham fans fume at club’s social media post

The Hammers in the Transfer Tavern are suffering from a Premier League hangover, following a humbling defeat at the hands of newly promoted Brighton on Friday evening.

West Ham went into their crucial match at the London Stadium knowing that nothing less than a win would be acceptable against the Seagulls. However, following their 3 nil defeat, West Ham sit in 16th place in the table with manager Slaven Bilic on the brink. Their recent run of form has provoked an outcry from sections of the Hammers faithful for Bilic to include star performers from their U23-side in the first-team squad.

One name who has been consistently mentioned is 20-year-old Spanish striker Toni Martinez, who once again failed to get the call from Bilic for Friday’s crucial fixture. The Hammers faithful were further frustrated by their club’s selection policy following a tweet from the clubs official account that praised the performance of 18-year-old Declan Rice for the U23-side yesterday.

Rice has recently slipped down the pecking order at the London Stadium and has found himself back in the U23 squad, despite making two League starts for the first-team earlier in the season.

With West Ham in such miserable form, the fans are searching for a solution to their crisis.

Many supporters appear to believe that the inclusion of their best young players such as Martinez and Rice, provides the key to revival for Bilic’s side.

Here’s what the fans had to say on Twitter…
