The West Ham fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are extremely excited for the future under new boss Manuel Pellegrini as the former Manchester City manager looks to steer the Hammers towards the top half of the table.

West Ham have been one of the more busier teams this summer already, as they've recruited Lukasz Fabianski, Issa Diop and Ryan Fredricks. All of those positions were sounded out by Pellegrini as weaknesses in the team as the boss looks to assert his authority and shape the side he wants next season. Everyone around West Ham wants new and exciting players and following the continuous rejection from Lazio for Felipe Anderson, our punters believe the Hammers would be wise to turn their attention to Mohamed Elyounoussi instead.

The £7.6 million-rated winger is a constant threat for Basel and has made a name for himself as one of their standout players.Manchester City will be well familiar with Elyounoussi, seeing as he scored and assisted a goal in Basel's 2-1 shock victory over the English champions where the 23-year-olds pace and trickery was too much to contain.

He continued to shine for Basel after that great night for the club as the forward scored 13 goals and created 17 assists for his teammates in all competitions. Southampton are reportedly close to signing the Norwegian international but West Ham have to assess him as a creditable target and one that could be just as effective as signing Felipe Anderson.

Manuel Pellegrini will be looking to have a successful first season back in England, proving that he still has what it takes to be a top manager.
